For our family, Valentine’s Day has become more of a kids holiday than one for us adults. They know they’ll wake up to chocolate and a sweet little treat, and we usually have themed goodies around the house in the days and weeks leading up to the holiday. This year, I’ve specifically been in search of budget-friendly valentine’s gifts for kids.
Being a total Amazon Prime mom (duh), you know I’ve been hitting up my favorite marketplace in search of new valentine’s gifts for kids that go a bit beyond chocolate and teddy bears—without going beyond my budget!
Pete the Cat: Valentine’s Day is Cool
The first time my kids heard about Pete the Cat was when we took a Saturday morning trip to the local kids playhouse downtown. Now, Pete the Cat has become somewhat of a household tradition! We’re always on the hunt for new books about this funky little cat.
Like most trending kids toys (Fingerlings, I’m looking at you), I don’t understand why smencils are so popular. I guess they’re pencils that smell yummy? Obviously, I’m officially not a cool mom anymore, but at least I can still understand my kids’ lingo and know what they think is cool.
Design Your Own Headphones
How cool is this?! A design your own headphones activity kit is perfect for older kids (teens and tweens specifically) who want a more personalized valentine’s gift experience.
Pandora Style Bracelet
My girls love nothing more than to wear things similar to what they see on their fashionista great-aunts (because they certainly don’t see it most days on this yoga pants wearing momma #coolwithit). The aunts regularly go bracelet charm shopping, making this a perfect valentine’s gift for kids who love jewelry.
As a huge positive parenting supporter, I love surrounding my kids with inspirational artwork and decor. This set of 4 pillows is perfect for encouraging exploration and adventuring.
Fill In the Blank Book
This easy to use Knock Knock book lets you fill in the blank on 50 pages, so you can tell your kiddo in every way imaginable how awesome they are. What an amazing way to show your love and offer continuous positivity and encouragement!
Perfect for little hands, crayon rocks make a particularly good valentine’s gift for kids of the tiny variety (use only with supervision). These allow them to hold the crayon and use their entire arm to color wildly across
your table their paper.
While I was shopping around for valentine’s gifts for kids, I also found some insanely cute alternatives to traditional paper valentines. Bonus: they aren’t really any more expensive, either! My kids will love passing out these Valentine bracelets or Valentine critter bookmarks to their friends.
